Dread Zeppelin friend Andy Miller, OH-58D Kiowa Warrior helicopter pilot for the United States army headed off for Iraq this July for at least 15 months duty. We are proud of you Andy and can't thank you and your family enough for your service to our country. Below is an e-mail I received from Andy just before he left for duty.
TCB, Tortelvis

I still vividly remember my first DZ show, not quite 20 years yet... spring of 1990 in Columbia SC at a club called Greenstreets. My friend and I got there mid-afternoon to buy tickets and as we were leaving we heard a group of people coming around the corner -- it was Tortelvis and all the guys in Dread Zeppelin. We got autographs, asked if we could take pictures during the show, and chatted for a while, then we were all off our own directions until show time. The show was great, had a blast. I had only seen a little segment on MTV News about DZ a few weeks before and was amazed y'all were playing in SC. I was hooked and a dedicated Dread Head after that. Unfortunately, SEP 1998 in Houston TX was the last show I have been able to make it to. Living in Hawaii, Alabama, and Alaska has not helped my DZ tour-catching ability. I did miss you by 1 day in Vegas in 2003! Anyway, I'm off for Iraq in July, so at least another 15 months before I may be able to catch a show. But man will I need a vacation when I get back, a DZ show may be just what the doctor orders.Y'all take care, congrats on 20 years of zeppelin inna reggae style (with some disco), and thanks for all the music and the good times.
